I couldn’t find the exact picture I saw in a magazine, but this one is pretty close. It seems that Megan Fox has appeared here and there lately. She’s been sporting this eye catching bronze glow and well defined eyes (golds, bronzes, touches of orange and warmth). I thought I’d do my own interpretation.
Here’s the breakdown…

MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque lower lid only

I had a Birthday party to go to recently, and I was inspired to try out some makeup that referenced the first eyeshadow colors I learned to put on in the late 1980s. I didn’t have time to make a video tutorial, but I still wanted to share the look and colors with you. Please share your own 80s makeup looks and stories!

I just finished this look…there will be a video as soon as I finish editing it (probably tomorrow).
I was inspired by the weekly challenge over at makeupgeek.com to do a look based on one of the seasons. I think I was supposed to pick my favorite season…but I actually picked my LEAST favorite – winter. YUCK!!! It makes me so depressed and gives me the blues! However, if I could look like this all winter long…I might reconsider – haha! It’s actually much MORE dramatic and dark in person (just ask The Man)…I guess the camera flash washes out the dark a bit. So, here’s the pictures, and the products I used”

I changed up the look later in the evening to be a big more dramatic and stormy!!
I had a few requests for an eyeshadow look that didn’t require a bunch of different products. Sometimes, you have to crawl before you can run! I know many of us makeup artists and product junkies will find this extremely basic, but it never hurts to review the fundamentals. So, here is a lesson with a very basic (and inexpensive) eye look.
A recap of the products used:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Maybelline 70 Time For Wine Expertwear Eye Shadow Quad
Wet ‘n’ Wild Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Black
Trish McEvoy Brushes 23 and 9
Eyelash Curler and Mascara
Here are some still pictures of the look:
And as a price comparison – you could have a similar palette of Trish McEvoy Shadows for approximately $64 (refill shadow pans go for about $16 each) or the Maybelline palette for $4-6. (Of course, there is some variation in color and pigment concentration between the two brands.)
The 4 Trish McEvoy shades are on the left and the Maybelline palette is on the right:
I was (again) looking at one of my favorite beauty blogs/sites – makeupgeek.com, and I saw that the challenge this week is to use the Pam Anderson Viva Glam V look for inspiration. Now, I’ve always admired this look. I actually remember trying to buy a lot of the colors when the look first came out. So, I felt compelled to recreate the look for you guys!
My finished look:
