yeah so I had the unsatisfactory experience of having to spend several hours on Sunday and today at a big “Fashion Revolution” hair show at the Austin Convention Center…basically I was clockin’ hours for beauty school…
nevertheless, I had the surreal experience of watching a bit of the “show” on the Farouk Systems/CHI stage…don’t get me wrong I have been a loyal BioSilk Silk Therapy user for years now, and they make some great ceramic flat irons with a justified cult of followers (personally, I prefer GHD myself and I just got a hot pink IV styler)…but I was NOT prepared for what I saw today…
Meet Mickey & Bradley…
that’s pretty much JUST LIKE what I was bombarded with but live, up close and in person…model’s doing an intro dance to AC/DC’s Back in Black…then a hype video with O Fortuna from Carmina Burana (yes, their egos are that big see here)…crazy yelling…cutting hair while not looking…air guitar…cutting hair while wearing sunglasses inside…one of the two making references to the poor economy the vice presidential debates and stating that “FAROUK is the REAL MAVERICK” because he was bringing jobs to the U.S. and boosting the economy with manufacture of their new digital ceramic irons being moved to the U.S…etc. etc.
I thought I had surely been sent to hell…
So, this evening I started some googling to find video of these guys to TRY to explain to my boyfriend what this experience was like…I pride myself on my “google-fu” but I was having a HARD time finding these guys…I didn’t pay enough attention at the show to catch their names or anything…so after several fruitless search terms…I tried
lo and behold…
1st hit was their myspace…who would’ve thunk it?

Thanks for the hints! Can’t wait to check them out. So far everyone’s been “supportive” of me switching to a MAC so I’m sure I just have to get with the program
